Freedom Ride: we joined faith leaders, artists, journalists and organizers to free Mahmoud Khalil

Organized in June 2025 by IFCO pastors for Peace, Riverside Church, Interfaith center, The People’s Forum, one of our co-leaders joined as a Brazilian representative and artist to bring awareness about illegal ICE detentions and political persecution in the struggle for Social Justice and liberation of Palestine.

We travelled to Jena Louisiana, stoppingg in Washington DC, North Carolina, Atlanta, Birmingham and arriving in Jena, Louisiana at the time the Mahmoud Khalis was supposed to be released from illegal detention. He was held for another week.

We also joined the #nokings march in New Orleans on Saturday
